Waka Huia brings you the personal, humble and intimate stories from Māori around Aotearoa (New Zealand). Hear the unique iwi (tribe) histories, explore the political, social and cultural concerns of the moment and gain a new perspective through the lives of these inspiring individuals.

This year’s new season also commemorates the leaders who have passed on, through the Waka Huia Legacy series. Told from the perspective of the mokopuna (grandchildren) these warm and loving recollections reveal the characteristics of these men and women like never before. These legacy pieces present crafted portraits of prominent Māori as seen through the eyes of family.
